Addon: The Idol
The Idol is a long-form horror addon built around a persistent entity rather than constant attacks. It exists on the server, follows players over time and uses client-side effects to target individuals. In multiplayer, one person may witness something that the rest of the group cannot see.

The entity begins by observing from a distance and gradually closes in. Its encounters are not fixed to special structures or coordinates, and movement is adapted to the players, which makes memorizing a safe route unreliable. A stage system controls how active and dangerous the Idol becomes.

The EMF reader reports the current stage. The Spirit Box can help locate the entity after it has entered the world and gives different responses depending on the situation. A Polaroid can stun the Idol during a chase, but repeated use increases its anger and can make the encounter worse.

The hunter is intended for longer playthroughs and may take time to appear. The configuration command included with the addon changes its spawn rate when a faster or slower scenario is preferred.

The pack supports singleplayer and multiplayer. Beta APIs should be enabled before creating the world so the scripted systems initialize correctly.
How to install the add-on
Download the .mcaddon or .mcpack file, open it with Minecraft and wait for the import to finish. Then enable the resource and behavior packs in the world settings. If the add-on requires experiments, turn them on before launching the world.
