Sieges become a resource-management challenge with handcrafted firearms and artillery that can fail under excessive stress. Recruit support, prepare ammunition and choose the right weapon for each distance.

For the intended crafting progression, balance and complete feature set, the author recommends running the latest Sieged alongside this addon. Sieged is a separate addon and is not included in this download. Unstable Weaponry itself does not require cheats or beta features.

From blueprint to firearm

Begin by obtaining a Firearm Blueprint: exploding firework rockets have a 10% chance to drop one. Combine the blueprint with netherite and diamonds to make upgrade templates. Sulfur comes from TNT detonated on its ore or as a random TNT-explosion drop. Sulfur, coal and sand produce black powder; iron and black powder are used for ammunition.

The Hand Cannon is a close-range weapon with strong knockback. Upgrade it at a smithing table with a template and netherite to obtain a Matchlock, which reaches farther but can misfire in wet weather.

Further progression opens the Flintlock for quick, precise shots, the Musket for medium and long distances, and the Blunderbuss for a wide short-range spread. These are different combat roles rather than interchangeable skins.

Equipment and maintenance

A holster worn in the leg slot prevents firearm durability loss when shooting. An ammo satchel occupies the chest slot and stores musket balls for automatic reloading; a bandolier removes the need to carry loose black powder for reloads. A cleaning rag restores firearm condition and reduces artillery stress.

Field Cannon and Great Bombard

Deploy a Field Cannon and load up to three powder charges. More powder improves range and damage but increases stress and the risk of destroying the gun. Horses can tow the cannon to another firing position. The Great Bombard is assembled in place with schematics and iron blocks. It can hold several rounds for automatic volleys, but its structure has a limited number of shots.

Artillery ammunition includes chain shot, grapeshot, sticky, bouncing and incendiary rounds. Powder kegs can trigger one another, allowing linked explosions. The Unstable Guide, crafted from a book and sulfur, provides recipe details inside the game.

Allies and enemy forts

Hire Rangers with emeralds or give a villager a firearm to create one. Give a villager cannonballs to obtain a Cannoneer who can operate field artillery. Enemy Sharpshooters use firearms too. Naturally generated Cannonforts bring guarded artillery positions and loot to explore.
