Nature's Smallfolk fills quiet spaces with insects and other small creatures whose behavior depends on habitat, time and nearby threats.

Butterflies land on flowers, ants collect items in defended piles, fireflies glow in dark vegetation and moths gather near light at night. Mantises ambush prey, tarantulas hunt insects after dark, snails retreat into their shells, crickets leap away from danger and dragonflies hover over rivers. Deserts gain dung beetles and scorpions, while oceans contain colorful sea slugs.

Many species have regional color variants. Predators interact with smaller creatures instead of existing only to attack the player, giving the system the feel of a connected ecosystem.

An empty glass jar safely captures a creature and remembers its variant. Thirty-five filled jar types can be placed as animated displays, allowing players to build a living collection without killing the animals.
