Livonian War 1558-1561 brings the conflict between the Tsardom of Russia and the Livonian Order into Bedrock. More than twenty infantry and mounted troop types take part, including streltsy, boyar cavalry, Tatars, Cossacks, knight brothers, landsknechts and levies.
Service and the campaign
Open the service charter to choose a side. Allied soldiers recognize you, while enemy troops become hostile. The charter can be opened again to change your allegiance. Earn silver through battle and prisoners, advance in rank, take commander missions and capture camps or villages. A war map tracks the front.
Morale affects encounters: soldiers can retreat, surrender and become prisoners. Settlements contain merchants, smiths, priests and residents with news. Winter clothing matters in cold conditions, so preparing for a campaign includes supplies as well as weapons.
Matchlock weapons
Hold the use control with an empty matchlock to load it, then tap use when it is loaded to fire. The sequence includes priming, powder, a ball and the ramrod, so these weapons fire much more slowly than modern rifles. Crouching improves accuracy; rain sharply increases the chance of a misfire.
