Immortal Cats protects tamed cats from normal damage, making them safer companions for exploration and building. It applies to cats that were already tamed before the addon was added, so there is no need to replace your existing pets.
Version 1.1 also adds knockback resistance to tamed cats. Normal damage sources no longer make a pet as vulnerable during dangerous situations, but the addon does not protect it from the /kill command. It is a focused change to companion safety rather than a new collection of cat species.
The author confirms achievement-friendly behavior through Minecraft 26.40. Do not assume that the same achievement status is guaranteed for later game releases.
