Addon: The Fogwalker

The Fogwalker is a dark horror addon for Minecraft Bedrock that reworks the idea of The Man From The Fog. Instead of a simple aggressive entity, it adds an intelligent stalker that watches, deceives and slowly increases pressure on the player.

The addon focuses on psychological horror: distant sightings, sounds, fog, night encounters, hallucinations and the constant feeling of being watched.

Fogwalker

The main entity is called Fogwalker. It can act carefully, hide at a distance, appear on trees or inside caves, and then become more aggressive over time.

Fogwalker's behavior is affected by world progress, sleeping and looking directly at the entity. The further the world progresses and the more often the player encounters it, the stronger the threat becomes.

Behavior phases

Fogwalker has several phases: psychological, stalking, deceitful and aggressive. Early on, it mostly scares and observes the player, but later it moves closer, creates dangerous situations and attacks much more directly.

Some encounters may look calm, but that is part of the deception. In later phases, Fogwalker can seem slow and controlled while the player is already in serious danger.

Skinwalkers and hallucinations

Fogwalker can take the body of certain animals and entities. These mobs can be recognized by their strange eyes and behavior: they stare at the player and may get closer.

Hallucinations of Fogwalker's face can also appear in the world. It is better not to stare at them for too long and to keep the area lit, because some actions have consequences.

Structures and items

Special structures connected to Fogwalker can be found in grassy areas: the Tear Destroyer Tower and the Cassette Cabin.

The Tear of the Man can temporarily keep the entity away. It can be obtained by encountering a face entity at night or by killing Fogwalker. Defeating Fogwalker can also give a Fog Tooth, which lets the player summon lightning manually.

Extra mechanics

• Fogwalker becomes more dangerous as the world progresses;
• it can create fog that reduces visibility;
• its attacks can cause extreme blood loss;
• the player starts with a configuration item and a safety instruction cassette;
• the behavior pack includes a subpack with faster events and phase progression for content creators;
• no experimental features are required.
