Addon: Tryzz's Lucky Blocks

Tryzz's Lucky Blocks introduces a simple gamble into survival. Craft a supply of special blocks, place them in a safe area and break one to trigger a random outcome.

Favorable results include enchanted tools, equipment and useful resources. Less fortunate blocks may summon snow golems, release a zombie horde or activate one of several traps. Because the result is hidden until destruction, even a valuable reward can be followed immediately by a dangerous encounter.

The mechanic works well in challenge maps and multiplayer races but can also be added to an ordinary survival world as an optional use for collected materials. Achievements remain available, so opening the blocks does not require converting the save into an experimental sandbox.
