DryOut expands desert exploration with creatures, ancient structures, hostile weather and magical finds. Oases provide a break from the dunes, while volcanic desert terrain offers another dangerous destination. This download is the 0.4-beta1 preview, with a revised achievement system and reorganized Creative inventory.

Creatures and ruins
Scorpions, scarabs, mummies, tarantulas and tumbleweeds populate the desert. Tombs, monuments, statues, temples and dungeons create reasons to leave the safety of a base. Their custom blocks, spawners and treasures connect exploration with the addon’s equipment and progression.

Weather and survival
Sandstorms bring wind, particles, reduced visibility and storm sounds. Shelter beneath a block to escape their effects. Major encounters can also trigger curses that remain for several in-game days and introduce changing events.

Oases offer calmer places to rest, while the volcanic desert has its own terrain and atmosphere. The configuration menu exposes adjustable survival features, including thirst and temperature options.

Relics and abilities
Relics provide active abilities and spells that use mana. Trinkets give passive effects while held in the main hand or offhand. For a chantable relic, use it with a Chant Sign, interact with the sign to start chanting, then crouch and interact when you want to release the stored ability. Chant Signs raise the ability tier.

Examples include Dagger of Khar with a powerful cutting attack and the Flaming Heart relic. Food Dousing adds another way to obtain effects: combine the appropriate item in your offhand with food in the main hand.

Guide and configuration
Craft the Achievement Guide using sand and a book. It organizes goals tied to exploration, combat, relics and discoveries, helping you choose what to investigate next. The configuration screen lets you adjust the available survival systems to your world.
